EXPLORE
Enjoy now & discover Golfito in Costa Rica
Golfito is the port city located further south of the country, it is located in front of the Osa Peninsula in the Golfo Dulce. Golfito has long been the gateway to Pavones, just to the south, for surfers and a fishing mecca for sport fishermen. However, Golfito has recently become the gateway to Costa Rica’s newest attraction, Eco-Lodges. Eco-Lodges are small hotels or hostels that blend in with their surroundings and offer their visitors the opportunity to see their natural surroundings with the least amount of impact on the environment.
For a long time Golfito has been the port of choice for anglers and those who like to do sport fishing, since there are fish to catch throughout the year and the specimen of choice is always the Pacific sailfish. Although the fishing season is year-round, the best months for sport fishing are from November to May, during Costa Rica’s dry season.
